Project Description
“The trapeze as the art of not having our feet on the ground, makes us take off to think and roar.”
Synopsis:
Twisting the Balance in Stockholm is a scenic experience that documents, from the spectacular look of the circus, the meeting in Stockholm of a trapeze artist and a collective of women of diverse origins, abilities, genres and realities. Together they reflect about the concepts of power and resistance in relation to the bodies produced by society.
The trapeze is resignified in Twisting the Balance as a public, political and promiscuous place, where anyone can exercise their voice. In this circus element the word takes flight, with the same risk and danger to which the bodies of the circus are exposed.
In the process we understood that the trapeze makes us be present, take risks, but also listen and feel, enable dialogue, generate relationships and create community.
The trapeze as the art of not having your feet on the ground, makes us take off to think and roar.
